PT is normally conducted on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 6:30 to 7:30 AM, though times and days can vary depending on the activity. The Terrapin Battalion utilizes the Armory Gym, Ludwig Track, the XFINITY ROTC Gym, campus sidewalks and bike paths, and the pool at Eppley Recreation Center to conduct its physical training and evaluations.
Lab is a 2-hour long block of training on Thursdays, usually either from 6:00 to 8:00 AM or 4:15 to 6:15 PM depending on the amount of light available in the evenings. Labs during Fall semesters focus on Basic Soldier Skills, such as Individual Movement Techniques, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, and Land Navigation. Towards the end of the Fall semester, cadets transition into practicing squad-level tactics. During the Spring semester cadets build on skills they learned the previous semester and begin practicing platoon-level tactical exercises. Throughout both semesters, the Terrapin Battalion enhances the realism of practical training by using paintball guns to simulate fire.
