Professor of Military Science

Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Bischoff is a native of Sparrowbush, NY. He received his commission as an Engineer Officer from Clarkson University Army ROTC in 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Clarkson University, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Missouri S&T, a Master of Arts in Military History from Norwich University, and has maintained an active Project Management Professional Certification since 2011. His military schooling includes the Ranger Course, Airborne Training, the Engineer Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Intermediate Level Education – Advanced Operations Course, the Joint Engineer Operations Course, the Euro-NATO Engineer Officer Staff Course, the Foundation Instructor/Facilitator Course, the Military History Instructor’s Course, and the University Senior Leader Course. He is a certified Army Project Manager, Public Affairs Officer, Observer Coach/Trainer, and Military Historian.

LTC Bischoff served as a platoon leader in the 16th Engineer Battalion in Giessen, Germany from 2001 to 2003, where he led the U.S Army Europe Immediate Reaction Force engineer platoon. He deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom I in 2003 where he served as a platoon leader and company executive officer. LTC Bischoff was the Assistant Brigade Engineer for 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division in Friedberg, Germany from 2004-2005. From 2006-2007, he was assigned to the 10th Mountain Division staff where he served as the Media Relations Officer for CJTF-76 in Afghanistan. In 2007, he activated and commanded the 630th Sapper Company, 7th Engineer Battalion at Ft. Drum, NY, until 2009.

From 2009 to 2015, Andrew Bischoff worked as a civilian project manager for several major energy companies, supervising the construction of natural gas pipelines and facilities. In 2013, he joined the Army Reserve and served as an Observer Coach/Trainer and Battalion Executive Officer in the 3-309 CS/CSS in Liverpool, NY. He deployed to CENTCOM as the Project Manager–Forward for the Middle East District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 2015 to 2016. In 2017, he assessed in the AGR program and assumed the role of Assistant Professor of Military Science for Cleveland Army ROTC hosted by John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH. He was the Executive Officer for the 2018 Cadet Command Cultural Understanding and Leadership Program mission in Uganda. From 2020 to 2023 he served as the Brigade S3 for the 411th Engineer Brigade, New Windsor NY. Before assuming the role of Professor of Military Science, LTC Bischoff worked on the U.S. Army Reserve Command staff as a Team Chief in the G-3/5/7 Engineering Directorate.

His awards include the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Silver), the Diekirche Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the Meritorious Unit Citation, and several others. LTC Bischoff is married to the former Kimberly Rouse (CPT, Ret.) and they have four children.
